Is this just a phase?

I am almost afraid to even write about this, but for five nights in a row, Lane has went to sleep on his own (at bedtime)!! And today, when I got home from school he laid down for his nap and went to sleep without needing to be bounced, rocked or swayed! He has two blankets that he LOVES to sleep with and a machine that has nature sounds and different melodies to choose from. I lay him down with his blankets, turn on the music and the little projector on the machine (high maintenance??:) and he goes sound to sleep!! I can hardly believe it! He did this before Christmas and had a set back when he got sick and trying to deal with the reflux. Now he is doing well with sleeping and I just hope that it continues. I just hope he is not teasing me...

Questions???

*** I got this as an email a while back and it made me laugh! Enjoy!

If 4 out of 5 people SUFFER from diarrhea....does that mean that one out of five enjoys it?

Why do croutons come in airtight packages? Aren't they just stale bread to begin with?

If people from Poland are called Poles, then why aren't people from Holland called Holes?

If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it Fed UP? ?

What hair color do they put on the driver's licenses of bald men?

I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use. Toothpicks?

Why do they put pictures of criminals up in the Post Office? What are we supposed to do, write to them? Why don't they just put their pictures on the postage stamps so the mailmen can look for them while they deliver the mail

Is it true that you never really learn to swear until you learn
to play golf?

As income tax time approaches, did you ever notice: When you put the two words 'The' and 'IRS' together, it spells 'THEIRS'?

YOU, make it a great day!Lord, please keep Your arm around my shoulders and Your hand over my mouth. Amen

9 Months Old

Yesterday, Jan. 10th, was Lane's 9 month birthday! Nine months ago today Lane was 1 day old, and because we kept him swaddled so tightly was referred to as the burrito baby. I absolutely love Lane's age right now! He is learning and discovering so many things about himself and the world around him! I think back to our world before him, and cannot think about what we did before! He has added so much joy to our lives!

Lane is saying "Dada" and now puts Dada with Austin! Austin will walk into the room and Lane automatically says "Dada, Dada"! He is also alternating ByeBye and Bab,Bab. Tressa thinks he said cat and sometimes I think he says Dog when he sees our dog D.J. He is a very observant baby and analyzes EVERYTHING! He also likes to play patty cake, he likes to attempt the motions to "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider, and "If Your Happy and You Know It". He is crawling EVERYWHERE and is trying to pull up and is very cautious when he does pull up. He is climbing up the steps at my moms house and again is very cautious. Right now he is not as daring as I have seen some babies his age (but I am sure that will change with age). Lane gives GREAT hugs and bigs sloppy kisses; he is such a loving baby boy! At 9 months old he still does not have any teeth.

Like I said before, he is a wonderful addition to our family and we love waking up to his big smiles every morning and cuddling with him at night! My prayer is that God will continue to bless him as he grows, changes and develops into each of his stages. Thank you God for giving us this wonderful miracle!

Update on Lane

Lane is much, much, much better. He is back to his happy little, kicking feet man. One of Doc's suggestions was to start pumping more frequently and adding cereal to his bottles to help with the reflux. It is helping, however I am having a hard time keeping up with his demands. Since this whole episode with reflux, he is refusing to eat baby food the majority of the time. As a result I am wearing myself out trying to pump, mix with cereal, feed and do it all over again. So, I am supplementing with formula and Lane seems to be adjusting well. I am trying at every feeding to get him to eat his solids and trying to get back in that routine, but he is VERY strong willed (not sure where that comes from)! Thank you so much for any and all prayers on his behalf!
