These are a few of Lane's Favorite Things...

I have not written about Lane in a while, so I thought I would jot down a few of Lane's favorite things...

Favorite Toys: trucks, cars, and tractors

Favorite Food: Rice

Favorite Quite Activity: Drawing or coloring

Favorite Word: "Mine" (this is by far the most annoying phase for mommy!)

Favorite Books: Goodnight Moon, Baby Bear, Baby Bear, Where the Wild Things Are, and Hop on Pop

His favorite part in Hop on Pop is where the author says "No, you must not hop on pop". Lane goes right along with it and points his little finger as if he is correcting the illustrations. In Baby Bear, Baby Bear, Lane loves to hoot for the owl and says "daddy deer" on the deer page. In Goodnight Moon he wants to "shhhh"the old lady whispering hush and has to point out and say all the creatures on every page. And he loves Max in Where the Wild Things Are.

Lane is surprising me everyday with the words and phrases that he is saying. He is gradually putting 3 and 4 words together to create little sentences. He repeats everything we say. The other night he dumped some water out of the tub and said "Wane may mess!"(Lane made mess). I was shocked and laughed that he put that together. And of course he is putting the word "mine" in front of every word that is applicable and this stage is driving me nuts. How do you get across to a 20 month old that everything is not "his". I thought child psychology would help me out in this area, but nothing is coming to the front of my mind.

Lane is very polite saying and signing please, all done, more please and thank you. He is a neat child and wants to throw things away that do not belong in the floor and for the most part likes for his hands to be clean. He is HIGHLY active and loves to run and play. He loves to snuggle and gives great hugs and kisses.

I am looking forward to this Christmas with him. I think he will be more about the actual gifts than the paper! I am blessed to have this precious baby boy in my life!

Love you, Lane!
