For Christmas I received an awesome gift from my beautiful and wonderful sister in law Jesslyn. She gave me the Beth Moore book Breaking Free Day by Day. This book has very short little devos for each day. It is tempting to just read the little 1 minute devos with the Bible verse but the book down and go to sleep. However the verses leave me wanting to know more. Therefore I open my Bible and read the context in which each verse is from and am learning more about "Breaking Free" from my worldly ways and am earnestly seeking out God's good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2) for myself. So far I am 8 for 8 and look forward to my studies each day.
Secondly, it is time to whip my little (or large) tail into shape. I went to the Dr. over Christmas break (the wonderful yearly visit) and I have gained 15 lbs since my last little yearly visit! I was HORRIFIED! I have NEVER, EVER weighed as much as I do now (except when I was preggo) and it is ridiculous that I have let myself go. Now I must say that since my visit I have lost 5 lbs, so I am on the right track. A coworker and friend of mine at school have started working out after school (at school) with our new best friend... Jillian Michael! We are doing the 30 day Shred and also mixing in The Biggest Loser Cardio Max. Whew! It can be exhausting, but it is oh so worth it. I can already tell that I am beginning to tone back up and feel a lot better! I do not want this to be temporary, I want this to be my lifestyle. I have always worked out, excercised, ran...you name it, I did it. It is time to get back to that but with one thing in mind. This time I am doing it to "present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God" Romans 12:1. God gave me this body and I need to take care of it.

I have become a member of www.myfitnesspal.com to help me set goals and reach them. This is a free website and is a great tool. It counts my calories, fat, protein, water intake, calculates BMI, excercise time and gives me an outlook to how I am doing. I added the little weight loss ticker to the bottom of my blog to let you see my weight loss progress. It is a super easy website to navigate, so if you are setting new weight loss goals, this is a great way to get started and stay motivated. My next weigh in is on Tuesday...we will see!
Now...time to continue being a healthier me...spiritually and physically!

You are so good! I love setting goals but I'm not great at reaching them. Good luck to you! Me & Will have done Jillian (and need to be now) and it is really good and really hard. The push ups kill me!!
Thanks Melodie! Push ups kill me too...I am so weak in my upper body. But, I have a feeling that is about to change:)
You go girl!
We are doing this Beth Moore DVD/workbook in our Monday morning ladies bible class. It is gonna be INCREDIBLE! I didn't know she had a daily devotional like this too. I'll have to check that out!
Good for you for getting in shape! I don't think you look like you've gained any weight though, but getting healthy is a smart thing to do. I've got the Biggest Loser Cardio Max dvd too but haven't used it yet. I'll get on that.....tomorrow...... :)
